so after watching a playthrough of DD chapter 4 I started to wonder at 1:00 AM which TF2 characters would survive each level so we're going to go through each level in DD and see which TF2 mercs have the weaponry, skills, and stats to make it through. one thing I am going to mention is that I'm giving the characters the ability to switch and swap their weapons beforehand, demoknight will be different from demoman, and I'll be ranking them from most likley to least likely to get killed. so let's start
10. sniper: he'd get slaughtered here
9. engineer: he has the mechanical expertise to take the murder monkeys apart, but this would require a lot of uninturrupted time for this to work. he wouldn't have time to get any of his buildings up unless he was using the gunslinger, but even then the mini sentry wouldn't do enough damage in enough time, not to mention the fact that he's going up against multiple enemies
8. soldier. now soldier can definately take the monkets out with his rocket launcer but this would put him at high risk of self damage. not to mention his slow footspeed, honestly he's more likley to kill himself then to get killed by the monkeys
7. heavy. he's got the same problems as soldier but his minigun is a safer weapon to use given the environment, however it wouldn't be able to shred through the monkeys fast enough, plus his slow speed and single firing lane would make him highly seceptible to attacks from multiple angles
6. demoknight: if it was one on one D. knight would win, the problem is that he's going up against 4-5 monkeys at once, and one of D. knight's biggest weaknesses is attacks from multiple enemies. DK's charge would allow him to escape danger and if he brought the caber he could at least take one down with him, but he probably wouldn't make it long term
okay now we get into the ones that ould actually survuve
5. medic: medic is naturally faster than the murder monkeys, paking the ubersaw and overdose would be a great combo, allowing him to build uber by using hit and run tactics and using the uber to be invincible plus using the overdose to gain a speed boost. he's only in the middle of the list as he would be very suceptible to attacks from other mokeys and his strategy comes at the highest risk to himself than the other four
4. pyro: pryo's flamrthrower is a powerful tool, not only allowing him to burn the monkeys but also being able to airpblast them away, however there are two caviats, the first is that the fire would damage the environment, and considering this level takes place in a hotel (above the bottom floor) this could lead to the floor collapsing and killing pyro, the other is that pyro might mistake the murder monkeys for actual toys and try and play with them, only to get killed. so pyro ahs about a 50/50 chance of making it out
3: demoman: stickybombs, stickeys, if utilized correctly, would be a godsend, just one sticky could put a monkey out of buisness, and that's not even factoring in the grenade launcher, however, like soldier, this would come at a great risk of self damage
2. scout: he's fast, and with the BFB he becomes even faster, the only risk he has is being cut off
spy: spy would be OP in dark deception as a whole (trust me you'll get to know this as the series goes on) spy can turn invisible, allowing him to go undetected by the monkeys, can duisguise himself as one of the monkeys (weather this would work or not is up in the air) and deactivate them with the sappers. spy would own this level
alright that's part one done, let me know what you think in the comments and I'll be working on part 2
