Thank you all for your continued support regarding Duststorm, as of right now however, i believe we're overdue for our first devlog, so here we go!


WELCOME EVERYONE TO OUR FIRST OFFICIAL DEVLOG! In here I'll be explaining everything that our team has been up to during these last few years which will hopefully clear some things up!

CODING PROGRESS

Our game has gone through many different looks and our team strives to make this game more and more creative and original compared to other dusttale takes which is why we're sticking with a different type of approach to how our UI looks!

What we've done is changed the font to give every battle a bit of a KICK!, we've also completely rehauled how each button looks! Overall this should give us a more "original" design that will stand out from the rest of the crowd!

Now regarding the rest of the game, our team has been hard at work with coding the first chapter! Now, you all may be wondering why its been delayed so much, unfortunately there is no definite answer other than our team struggling to find any coders that are willing to help us with our game so as of right now, we're not too sure when the first chapter will be releasing!

SPRITING PROGRESS

Over the course of the years, our sans sprite has been going through MANY different iterations for its design but I'm happy to announce we've landed on a final sprite which can be seen below! say hello sans!

Other than sans, originally this take was just thought to be a generic fight that wouldn't lead to anything else but our team is now turning this into a full game! We're on our way to rehaul every single sprite in the game and as of right now we've finished respriting every monster in the ruins! we're working towards finishing the tilesets to give a little bit more life into the underground (ironic) as well as respriting, we're also adding new area's and a storyline that will hopefully make sense

STORY PROGRESS

We've shifted from this being just another sans focused game, its still focused on the idea of sans killing but this game isnt focused on JUST sans, in this dusttale take, sans teams up with some of the monsters instead of killing them instantly!

  1. Why has it taken so long for the first devlog?

    Our first devlog has been delayed for quite some time due to our team not really having any real progress to show until now

  2. Isn't this just stretch dusttale...?

    if i get asked this again i swear to god- NO! this is NOTHING like stretch's take on dusttale, Dusttale: I Miss You, other than papyrus wearing royal guard armour, nothing else is similar

  3. Will Papyrus have a bigger role than other dusttales?

    Absolutely! Unlike other dusttale takes, our papyrus will play a decently big role in this take!

  4. Will this game be availiable on MacOS, Windows, Linux, IOS?

    As of right now, the game once released will be available for Windows and MacOS

  5. Will this game be chapter based, or full length?

    This game will be released in chapters, once we've completed every chapter we will combine it all into one big game

  6. Do you like working on this?

    Of course!

  7. Why does sans not kill toriel right away?

    Well, I wouldn't want to spoil anything JUST yet but what i can say is that, sans feels guilty after killing so he wants to spare toriel.

  8. Will there be multiple endings? Perhaps a Good ending?

    Absolutely! this take will have many different endings including a good ending

  9. Will other characters such as alphys, undyne play a bigger role in this take?

    Every major Boss monster will have a bigger role to play including Alphys and Undyne

holy, i just realised how close we are to 100 followers!

if we reach 100, ill post BIG progress on the ruins encounter!

since you all destroyed my original record for likes on gamejolt, have this, a quarter of the new sprite (yes we're going back to detailed battle sprites) i hope this pleases you all until the demo comes out :D

i'd like to share the first sneak peak for the new ruins encounter! we've updated ALL of our sprites and are very happy with the result!

when we reach 100 followers, ill be sharing a video showcasing the battle! so stay tuned until then!

Unfortunately since I'm quite busy (and also pretty burnt out from doing art right now) I only got to make a few... But I hope you guys like'em!
