Hi everyone, I've decided that monthly progress updates seem like a good idea for now so here we go!
I would like to jump straight in and start with the percentage complete thing so...:
Mechanics: 100%
Characters: 100%
Menus: 95%
"New" Classic Mode: 0%
ETC/Secret Stuff: 25%
Basically, to summarize, all the menus are done and its now a matter of getting the "New" Classic Mode and extra polish in. This means...we're not far from completion now! It truly is looking it'll be ready by...
August 8th (The release date (probably))
I'm quite happy with where everything is and I'm excited to get this out so I can swiftly move on to the next phase of 2024, which is...well you get it.
As I speak, I will be updating the gamepage so you can get a glimpse of whats in store. You all already have an idea of one of the major changes to the game (the new Freddy power-out sequence), but there is quite a lot to unpack. While I don't have a trailer this time, here's some more stuff to expect for FNAF 1 SCN:
The way characters unlock is now reworked through character specific challenges. Essentially, you play the character's respective challenge and if you beat it you unlock the character. You can also unlock the character via the redone Classic Mode (its just Ultra Mode renamed). To summarize, no more RNG character unlocks (also Golden Freddy and Phone Guy are unlocked from the start).
Character's are far more balanced and from my own playtesting are incapable of doing devious (unfair) things. Scrapbaby and Golden Freddy combo for example was annoying in UCN, not even remotely as bad in SCN.
The Fredbear rework actually makes the max mode fun. Big success. Hardest part is power, so green-running is very necessary.
Keyboard controls and mouse actions are bufferable, which is a smoother play experience overall.
Still no fan.
And some...other thing. Not ready to reveal it yet, but you'll see it eventually.
For now, I'm gonna head back to work. I will be doing proper playtesting soon so once that's complete then the release will basically happen. Post launch features are currently not being considered, but like...who knows at this point, anything is possible.
