Oh. My. God.
Is this the DT news not in the next moth? Yes, I myself don’t believe in it, but as my friend, who is in a similar situation, said, "Yes, imagine it." And just like in his case, I’ll have a small post, since there isn’t too much material ready for a full-fledged post, so this time it won’t be scary if this post is read by few people.
Anyway, let’s go...
✨ So why am I actually starting this post in the middle of the week?
The reason is simple: Ksan and I released the game for GameJam. It turned out to be very small, in places unfinished, without everything that we wanted to add in it, but I'm glad that we actually did it. If suddenly you don't know what kind of game it is, some kind of GameJam, or don't mind re-reading my three-page scribble a second time, then go down below and read the previous post.
In general, this work is now over. I don't know if we’ll still participate in jams this year, but the experience was truly interesting. If you’re interested in trying out this prototype (and it’s the prototype, nothing more) and you have free time for this, then here’s the link to the game page: https://tim-dn.itch.io/back-to-the-office. I would also be grateful if you leave comments under this game on its page or under this post after playing it and share your opinion about it.
Perhaps in a week or two we’ll start work on a patch / update for the game in order to gradually bring it into a more decent form, if, of course, the desire to deal with it will live on for some time. In the meantime, you can follow the link and play our collaboration with Ksan.
Well, so that the post wasn’t just about Jam, there are some ready-made news:
✨ Working on Text Box.
In principle, the name speaks for itself. I took the winning frame from old poll and revamped it a bit, adding more colors and making its form a little confusing. Plus, I immediately tested the font on it. I think the next step will be drawing characters in dialogues, so expect the first test of the dialog system in the next post!
✨ Toriel and Flowey's first sprite is ready!
Both of them have undergone minor design changes since the first version, but you can still recognize old familiar features in them. Probably…
✨ Thinking of diversifying the preview on GameJolt’s posts.
Why? Because this one is a little monotonous for several posts as I think. The concepts of new previews have been ready for a long time, it only needs to draw them when there’ll be more time and effort. Oh, and yes, the artist of our current preview is Alice (Lord of the Sun), thanks to her for this work, which is almost a year old :з
Well, one more piece of news, not really about DT, but it also deserves coverage.
✨ Ksan finally passed all exams!
The last, mathematics, he passed on 45 points, and is already in the process of submitting documents to various universities. We’ll hope that those universities he wants will accept him, but just in case we’re looking for alternatives. 3 documents have already been submitted to SFU and 2 to NSTU in different directions, and a little later he’ll submit to HCI NSU. Meanwhile, he’s working on SwapFell, painting Chara's faces for dialogue, and changing the first cut-scene in the game. I sometimes help him, since I recently returned to the team (yes, I had a temporary break from SF, but since I like this universe and Ksan needs help, I decided to return again)
. Plus, he’s planning to update GameJolt's page, with which I'm going to help him if he asks for help.
Well, that's all I wanted to say. I'll go back to the backstage. Now we need to work hard, because in a month it’ll be very difficult to continue working on games and drawing in the same mode, since autumn’s just around the corner, as well as studies. So see you in August, companions! Enjoy the summer while you have time, do your favorite things and take care of yourself! I’ll see you later ;з✨✨
