Tower Wars has more than evolved with the development of the ‘suppose-to-be-update’ with a totally new look and mock up, the experience is more than overwhelming!
Why I call it ‘suppose-to-be-update’ is because it doesn’t represent an update anymore. It instead, represents a hugely improved game, a new game that’s been polished throughout it’s development. Here I thought I would be making a small update on minor features but INSTEAD I found myself asking for more, what could I possibly do to take away that amateurish look from Tower Wars, how could I make user’s want to play more and enjoy the game. I strive to bring myself to develop things like this which would convince my players to come back.
I sat with a book in front of me for more than a month planning the new update on paper with pseudo code and ideas. I started developing this towards the end of March and was impressed with what deviations I was able to put together.
Now enough with the prep talk, I bet you’re thinking “this is just a load of rubbish that this developer is putting in text with no proof what-so-ever that he actually has been developing this game further, or better yet, creating something better for us to play”.
Well I present to you. PROOF:
(Minor things are still being developed so this is NOT the final product.)
The brand new user menu:
The brand new profile menu:
A new way to choose troops for your battles:
(This is a development version, troops will be unlocked as you progress throughout the game.)
And..
That is what you can look forward to, with major and minor improvements on each and more!
Currently I am developing the new battle system that is why a screenshot is not available BUT it is coming a long very nicely.
I have made major changes including changing the name. This is no longer Tower Wars, this is now Tower Wars Extended. It is a completely new game from the one before.
This new game includes features such as:
An new additional character with a completely new ability. The Meteor Mage. The screenshot above has a placeholder graphic till I add it in.
Completely new menu’s such as the Stats Menu, A menu to choose your troops and a profile menu as well as the Main Menu itself!
A new save and load feature which wasn’t available at the user’s/player’s discretion.
A button to sign into GameJolt.
An in-game currency called Crystals! But don’t worry, this currency is only used to upgrade troops and is earned everytime an enemy troop is killed.
Troop levels, Troops can deal and take damage based on their level.
A completely redone Battle System! Before the troops use to deal damage as if they had an x amount of lives, now troops will do additional damage when in groups. Not to mention, Archers now shoot at angles to hit their target.
Multiplayer is planned for development after the release of the official version, so stay tuned for that!
These are all overviews of what you can expect from the new version, Tower Wars Extended!
A due date has been set for this new version, I am hoping to have it finished by the middle of the follwing week. Development is unpredictable so depending on what happens, it may be a bit later or earlier.
Next week I would like to organise a Beta-Testing or Early Access version for feedback, so if you would like to test it out, please leave a comment with any means of contacting you.
Thank you for taking the time to read! I hope you enjoy the read and look forward to Tower Wars Extended.
Regards, Mitchell.
