Game
Downwards Demo

The final update for the demo is now out, you can read what's new below:

  • New Silver Ore, common and valuable, found in further depths

  • You can upload messages to cloud storage where it will be stored permanently, unfortunately you can't see your messages or other's messages.

  • New ore rendering script optimized for future layer updates (You should barely see any difference)

  • Render script optimizations

  • Iron Ore value increased

  • Usernames, but originally created for chats

  • Censorship system to block out naughty words

As I said in the log you can't see other's messages sent by chat. Why? The chat system was a waste of time. It took too long to fetch or send data and worried about how I could make it faster so that you could read other's messages at appropriate speeds. This never came to be. I could've spent this time adding valuable aspects to the game but instead I spent it on a feature that barely works. This crushed my motivation and stopped working on the game for a week. I'll instead add features I know will work and I know will make the game more fun.

I hope you enjoy the final demo update, see you guys soon

Audiostream doesn't work when packaged and turboloader has become mostly obsolete due to new turbowarp extensions

I'll have to move contents of this project to another one and replace turboloader blocks with official extension ones

1st project: racing project main/physics

2nd project: racing project map systems and that

Quiet video

This dude is very underrated, 2 digit views but insane sound design and use of the scratch audio system

Great attention to detail too, on the second car the drivetrain makes a high sound based on the speed not rpm

Publicly releasing the car sound design project, you can customize pretty much everything

Enjoy

More sound design experiments

Headphones recommended

A slight change in lighting calculation allows it to be more realistic and allows for visuals such as this

My projects Crate Engine and Marble Mania have been dropped so as a result I'm making them open source

The engine is way more bare and approachable while the unfinished game has more editor features

Have fun!

Low pass

My demo is finally complete! Sure some parts don't look as professional, but then again it's a demo

Play it here! https://gamejolt.com/games/ddemo/646571

I also said I'll add online aspects, but censorship is hard to add, I'll add chats and stuff in an update

Old side project inspired by I Wanna Kill The Kamilia and Jump Knight, should be multiplayer as well

left/right arrows - move

spacebar - charge jump
