Introduction of this game
Hey everyone, thanks for the great support over the past 3 days!
Since this is the first devlog post about Br!ghtside I’ll give a small introduction of this game, this introduction is not a replacement of the description of this game, it’s a addition to it. So if you haven’t already make sure to read the description first before you continue with this introduction section of the article.
The game’s style/genre
Br!ghtside will be a 2D horror game, it will contain some jumpscares but I’m not planning to “overuse” them (I don’t really like jumpscares myself).
Although it doesn’t look like a horror game at the moment it will soon look like one, I promise!
Releasing this game
I’m planning to split the game up in multiple chapters, a system used by Bendy and the ink machine, this system will ensure that you guys can play this game as soon as it’s ready! Owh and I can’t make any promises about the release date yet, but I expect it won’t take more than a month. (please don’t quote me on that though…)
Current status of the game
Yay we’ve finally arived at the less boring text part of this article!
Here I’ll flex some screenshots and maybe even a little video of gameplay and cool new features! And don’t worry there’s still plenty of text left :)
I’ve finished the first version of our enemy and it’s AI, it works pretty good but there’s still a lot to be done to make it perfect.
You can also throw items like a knife and even kill the enemy with it!
I’ve started working on the introduction level, in this level you’ll be able to get comfortable with the controlls and the game mechanics in a safe environment!
What’s next?
In the coming days I’ll be working on the first few levels, I’ll also add ropes to the game… But more on that in the next devlog post ;) After the first few levels are created and work fine I’ll start polishing the game a little more.
