In the beginning of the week,I mainly worked on the presentation of the game’s summary. I wanted to leave a little preview of what to expect in the upcoming project. I set up a Gamejolt page to register the name for it,and made a teaser poster for it as well.
Here's how it looks if you want to check it out.
Before I rush into coding,I thought it was best to make a screenplay style script of what events will play out in the game first. I had already wrote the game’s stories and concepts for what I envision. But since I wrote it in a traditional literature narrative,I don’t think it will transfer well in a visual novel game. So I am in the process of revising it.
I’m writing down how the characters will display their reactions, how certain scenes will transition to the next, how game menu options will appear, and how each variables will represent characters in the coding process. I debated whether or not to write down what tone of music should play to convey an atmosphere for each scene, but I decided to save that part for last during editing.(I am starting to notice composing music is a whole separate big project to handle that requires all your attention.)
That’s pretty much what I got done this week. I’ll probably be more productive next week when I am not distracted with studying for tests.(Let’s hope at least.)
