Hey all! Looks like it's that time again... the game is out! The time has finally come. I think it's safe to say that you all will enjoy this game, and I hope the wait was worth it.
When the development for this game first seriously started, it was just going to be a small, one-off, almost "filler" project. In these earlier stages, the game was definitely a downgrade from what we did with FNaTI. Fortunately, the game slowly evolved more and more and eventually became what it is now. Thank god it did, because I am honestly so proud of it in its current state. All of the team members did a great job, especially TheBlackCyan, FreshDecimate, and of course Peytonphile (he sucks). At this point, I'd say this game is almost as big as FNaTI. It's amazing how well we did.
This project was in limbo for longer than you guys probably expect. We actually tried making this all the way back in late 2016, and we only got one model done for it and nothing else. Back then, Radiance wasn't even called "Radiance", and I wasn't called Nocturna. The point is, this has always been a project we wanted to do. I can't be grateful enough that we didn't go through with that one idea with the crazy fanboy locking you in a house and sending an evil Chuck E. robot after you. Yes, that was something we almost did...
When testing this game, I got this special feeling that previously only the original trilogy of FNaF games gave me. Maybe that's a good sign? But most importantly, this game gave me the feeling that the original FNaCEC gave me, from all the way back in 2015. We kept many things faithful to the original, and we especially tried to keep the game's difficulty intact. Don't be surprised if some things are extremely challenging and even unbeatable. However, being that we are pretty competent developers, we made sure that the most important things were beatable, and we made sure this game had something that the original game notoriously didn't have: fair gameplay.
Because of this, we believe this is the best possible reboot of Five Nights at Chuck E. Cheese's that we could have made. Part of our plan back in 2016 was to use older generations of characters for the main cast rather than the modern cast, and that idea stuck around to this day. While this reboot may not be the most accurate or true-to-source thing we could have made, that's kind of the point. We recognized the original game's flaws, reimagined a few things, and I believe we ultimately did this game justice.
Obviously, this game may not mean as much to us as FNaTI. Hell, the original developer even said that he was inspired by FNaTI to make this game. Regardless, this game played a huge role in the fangame scene and means a lot to people on our team that have been around since the beginning. Even today, the Chuck E. Cheese fangame concept has barely been touched upon, which makes this game all the more special.
To those of you who remember this game, I hope you enjoy playing it as much as we have enjoyed making it. Happy 4th! Whether you're from America or some other place in the world, it's time to smile and say Chuck E. Cheese!
