The Party Collection: How Party 2 Will grow


Heya party pals!

It's been a while since our last announcement, but since we're close to finishing the latest and final content update for our other project, Bubbaruka, we figured its a good time to share some news regarding the nature of the Party 2 remake that will be included in the Party Collection.

The remake of Party 2, which will simply be named "Ellie's Party", will function as both a remake of all of the content within the current Party 2, and as a major content expansion. We will be increasing the length of the game significantly, and adding new secrets, mechanics, and scary things to encounter.

So today, we're going to share with you some of the major changes coming to Party 2 in the remake. Of course, all of the scenes, secrets, and sequences within Party 2 will be included in the remake, just in different times and areas to function with the new additions.

  • Ellie's house is getting remodeled! Now it will resemble an actual functional house, since the current structure is... Questionable at certain points. Of course, this means all new rooms and secrets to find in the new areas of the house!

  • What are currently known as "endings" aren't really the end of the game for the most part, and treating it as an ending made going back to get them more tedious, since you had to wait for Elise to knock on the door, go through the different sequences, all through things you've mostly seen before.

    However, the endings are the most story heavy and horror latent areas of the game, and add an element of challenge to finding them all to get the true ending. These are all aspects we definitely want to keep, so we've come up with an alternative...

    Instead of the game taking place in one night across several different endings, the game will span the course of one week, ending on the day of Ellie's birthday. Each night, you will have the opportunity to explore the house and experience different events and spooky happenings.

    Every night, you can do certain things to trigger a special ending to the night, which will be the new "Endings". All of the current endings will be converted into Night Endings, and will largely be triggered in a similar or the same way as they are now. At the end of a night ending, instead of the game freezing and forcing you to restart the game, you will instead wake up the next day.

    Similar to right now, to achieve the true ending of Ellie's Party you will have to complete all of the main night endings before the final day.

    What we hope to accomplish with this is to continue allowing new events and sequences to happen as you try to get the different night endings, as opposed to having to go through the same events and the same scares every time you go for a new ending, which can become very tiresome.

  • There will now be actual gameplay! Almost all of the chase scenes and encounters with Elise in the original were completely scripted with no real gameplay, making the game mostly consist of several scares stringed together. This worked fine for the shorter original Party 2, but since the remake will be longer, we figured it would be more fun if your actions had more of an effect on things, and there was more strategy to evading, escaping, and encountering Elise. So that's exactly what we are going to do!

    Every night, "Elise" will attempt to break into the house and attack you. If you get caught by "Elise" outside of night endings, you will wake up from your "Nightmare" the next day, forcing you to play smart around her to avoid losing time before the final day.

    As a result, many things in the house will now have actual functionality to assist you in evading "Elise". Light switches can now be used to hide from Elise, or used by Elise to ambush you, so remember which lights are on to avoid getting surprised!

    More escape mechanics will be in the game to prevent Elise from getting in, or hinder her pursuit of you. For example, several planks will by in Ellie's basement, which she can grab to place under doorknobs and stop Elise from using that door from the other side. You can also purchase supplies on the internet during the day to help you at night (Such as baby monitors, security cameras, trip wire, tools, extra planks and more), arriving the next day.

  • Windows will now be more prevalent, acting as another entrance for Elise to break through (which can be boarded up using planks and nails to prevent access) as well as a view point to outside that you might be able to use to spot Elise and be more aware of where she's coming from and where she's going.

  • You will now be able to purchase a Security system for your home which will alert you when an entrance is used. If it is armed, it will sound a siren to alert you of her presence.

  • Elise is now more cunning and more frightening than ever! She will adapt to your defenses and act accordingly to get her hands on you. This manifests in several ways, but here is one example:

    Elise may choose to flip the breaker switch in your backyard, causing a power outage and bathing the house in darkness, disabling your electronics and the security system until you go outside and fix it, leaving the front door undefended, or leaving yourself vulnerable in the open.

These are just some of the changes we plan on implementing to make the game a more fun and dynamic experience like you might expect from reading the description.
