So, I never actually got to explain as much of the lore as I wanted to in NR 1 HD Edition, mainly because of alot of the ingame lore that was explained being outdated.

For anyone wondering about who the character in that ominous post from a few weeks ago, it was actually Tails Doll.

The lore would've been that Tails Doll was actually sort of a Shadow Fox thing, who would've come to Eggman for a deal, where if Eggman gave his soul the Dark Fox would kill Sonic, Eggman taking this offer without hesitation.

However, Eggman realised he didn't actually want Sonic dead, but it was too late and this Dark Fox had killed Sonic. When it came time for Eggman to hand over his soul, he instead ran and sealed the Dark Fox within Tails Doll.

Dark Fox, who was basically now Tails Doll, was enraged. He still had access to some of his powers, although they were greatly limited, so he decided to travel back in time and alter events drastically to get revenge on Eggman.

The timeline completely reset, and Tails Doll decided to shift events so Sonic and Tails would make a diner called "SFFD". FNaS 1-2 happen (the bite of '91 didn't however, Eggman opens Sonic's Museum Palace and it's storage unit around FNaS 2), and one night Tails Doll's main plan comes into action. He possesses Eggman, breaks into the storage unit, kills Tails, Mario and Yoshi, before being killed by Salvage Sonic.

Instead of becoming 27 Golden Sonic, Eggman's soul would've transferred to Nightmare, back in the Sonic's Museum Palace storage unit.

Dark Fox was also the "protector" of the Phantom Ruby, and had all of it's powers but expanded on, which is why it was so powerful. Anyways, after SMS Storage Unit exploded, Dark Fox saw Salvage Sonic, now heavily injured, crawling away from the exploded remains (fun fact, right outside SMS Storage Unit in the game you can see dried up blood stains, these are meant to be from Salvage Sonic).

Dark Fox (or, Tails Doll to everyone else now) made a deal with Salvage Sonic. Dark Fox would heal and assist Salvage Sonic in his plans, all in exchange for a future favour. Well, you see Nightmare Salvage Sonic in game, so yeah he obviously accepted the offer.

Another fun fact, if you beat the bad ending twice on the same save file, Nightmare Salvage will acknowledge that you've already been here before, this was kinda inspired off of Flowey lol

Anyways the true ending happens, Dark Fox can see into the future slightly and saw an explosion, so he anticipated he'd be freed from the Tails Doll body and have full access to all of his powers... The explosion happens, but because of reinforcements Eggman made to the suit it was only partly destroyed, leaving Dark Fox heavily disappointed. The ominous post from a few weeks ago was set shortly after NR 1 HD Edition's true ending. (For reference, Luigi sadly died in the explosion.)

From here, the story would've split down two routes, NR 2 and FNaS TP. NR 2 is probably the lesser interesting so I'll cover it first.

Phantom Nightmare Salvage would've found the Phantom Ruby in Floor C, and decided to use it to travel backwards in time.

Sonic would've been running from a bad storm, and taken shelter inside of an abandoned SHPP restaurant, the same one that was storing the decaying Toy Lock animatronics. After absorbing the power of the Phantom Ruby, Nightmare Salvage would've turned into Shadow Salvage Sonic. 5 Nights would've passed by... and then Sonic would die to Shadow Salvage Sonic, and would've become Springlock Sonic, Shadow Salvage Sonic deciding to dump the suit in Floor 4.

Now, in TP, it would've stayed close to the original, although Tails would've received a letter from "Sonic", telling Tails he needed to meet him at the factory. Golden Toy Lock Sonic was actually the one who sent the letter, and Sonic's been springlocked for like a week.

Anyways, FNaS TP Night 1-5 happen, although instead of Torture Device, Withered Tails Doll would've taken his place.

After Night 5, Tails burnt down the factory, even still inside of it. Golden Toy Lock Sonic used the phantom ruby that he'd borrowed from Shadow Salvage to help kill Tails to teleport away, and all of the Torture animatronics were destroyed.

But, by causing a fire, Tails destroyed Tails Doll... And freed Dark Fox. A new Night 6 would've started, being a boss fight against Dark Fox where he'd do a load of crazy stuff. That was about all of the written story before I decided to recently discontinue this series.
