Mia and her friend Raven's school was holding prom night on Thursday and they were so excited to go, however, they had no dates to the prom. They said that they would talk about who they were going to ask about the prom that night because they were having a sleepover. That night they had talked all night long but they still had no idea who they were going to take to the prom. The next day they got lunch and Raven said she had the perfect idea on who they both would bring.

Raven: Mia, you can ask Corbin if he can take you to the prom. I can ask Liam.

Mia: Okay but what if they say no?

Raven: If they say no then we can just keep asking people that we would have a good time with, but I am almost completely sure that they will say yes.

Mia: Okay, if you say so.

They left the lunch room and they asked Corbin and Liam if they wanted to go to the prom with them. Sure enough both of them said yes and the two girls got so excited that they could go to the prom with people they would enjoy having their prom with. They finished the school day and walked to their houses together because they lived on the same street. When the night before prom came Mia was freaking out because she didn't have anything to wear.

Mia: Hey mom?

Mia's Mom: Yes honey?

Mia: is there any way we can go to the dress store. I don't have anything that I want to wear to the prom.

Mia's Mom: Sure sweetheart, let me just tell your father that he needs to watch your little brother and sister.

Mia: Okay mom. I need to grab my purse anyway.

Mia's Mom: Okay, be ready in about five minutes.

Mia: Okay mom.

They get ready to head to the store and start to walk out the door. They get in the car and go to the dress store where as soon as Mia gets into the store she sees the perfect dress. It was green with shoe lace strings around the neck area and was narrow and straight as if someone had grabbed a hair straightener and went around the whole thing.

Mia: Mom, it's the perfect dress.

Mia's Mom: Okay, how much is it?

Mia: It's on sale for $25.

Mia's Mom: That is perfect.

Mia: It is fate. That is exactly how much I brought.

Mia's Mom: Okay, let's find one your size and head to the counter.

Mia: That's just it mom, there is only one left and it is my size.

Mia's mom: I guess it is fate then.

They walk over to the counter and the clerk rings it up. Mia pays for the dress and they walk out of the store. They get home and everything is silent.

Mia's Mom: I'm going to go check on your brother and sister, you should go to bed. You have a big day ahead of you tomorrow.

Mia: Okay mom. Goodnight, I love you.

Mia's Mom: Sleep well, I love you too.

Mia goes up to her room to find her best friend, Raven sobbing on her bed. Mia is shocked to find her best friend sobbing on her bed at 10:30 at night. Mia says in a shocked voice " What is wrong Raven " Raven replies " I hurt my ankle going down my stairs and now I don't know how I am going to dance tomorrow " Mia tells her that everything will be okay and she just has to relax. Mia wraps her leg up in bandages and tells her that she can sleep on her bed and she would sleep on her floor.
