The truth behind Bunny Graveyard!

Theory in article

Let's start off by refreshing everyone on the basics we should already know.

Bunny Graveyard (presumably) takes place in the same universe as Endfall. Skye often helps mortals explore the world of the afterlife in said game.

Other than that, I don't think we know much about her (until now)

Through the currently available lore demo, we get a lot of fun little details about her and her family. One of these details is very interesting

This shows that something has been building up for a little while now. Skye isn't chosen at random, she's been watched by 'the entity' for a while before things go down. It's unclear if Skye is the only one with these dreams.

Another thing we can learn is that she likely knows something is up, and possibly has an idea what it is?

In the Bunny minigame, it's made clear Skye doesn't want to stay. This could just be her randomly creeped out though so let's not read too much into it.

.

Now, I made a big claim at the start, that this is a family curse. So why do I think this?

Well, for one, the game seems to have a focus on her family. Skyes family and 'the entity' are the only focusses in the game. So that's a good place to start.

But where does the new trailer play into this?

Well there's actually quite a few interesting details I noticed if you go frame by frame.

First we see Skye being pulled out of a ball pit (hopefully no time travel involved) by presumably the players hand

However, next, for a blink and you'll miss it moment we see bunnies hanging upside down, one of them looking very similar to Skye seemingly insane

This might not be Skye though, since she doesn't have her eye patch, which presumably hides an injury? So it doesn't make sense that both her eyes would look just fine.

Skyes outfit and the other bunnies are nearly identical though, and there could be explanations for the eye patch, so this could still be her.

Either way, she is far from the first, though possibly the last. Many bunnies have been hung and driven insane by 'the entity' before her, all of them rabbits.

Now, the game takes place in a town of rabbits, so this might not necessarily be a 'family' curse, but frankly I wouldn't be surprised if everyone in the village was related somehow, considering how rabbits breed. 😉

However, our next freeze frames I think are just as interesting, not because of some wild imagery, but because it seems to be drawing attention to something you otherwise wouldn't think much of.

Her eye patch

After a close up of Skyes face, rather than focussing on her still living eye, it chooses to focus on the eye patch, drawing further attention to something we still don't fully understand

ice_screenshot_20220717-234444.png

Why does a kid have an eye patch anyways? She's not a hardened war hero. Does she just think it's cool? If so that seems like the kind of thing that might get mentioned in the game. She talks about the things she and her family loves, but she loves sci-fi and fantasy, not pirates. So we can only guess she has the eye patch for more of a reason than just fashion.

The focus on it in this shot seems to further indicate that.

Next, we get a close up of her eye patch once again, but it looks like there's a reflection of a black (and evil) bunny. There's also a white streak down the middle. Perhaps it's being cut?

So, here's an interesting theory. Perhaps her eye patch was destroyed, thus resulting in the insane hung upside down Skye we saw earlier.

Maybe the eye patch was protecting her somehow, like it being magical.

Or maybe her right eye is particularly vulnerable to 'the entity' somehow, and that's why she had the eye patch. If this were the case though, again, I would think her right eye would look different from the left eye.

I think there's definitely something up with the eye patch though, and it will likely play a decent role in Skyes back story (which I'm guessing Bunny Graveyard essentially is, being a prequel to End Fall)

There's definitely something bigger going on than just Skye and her brother though. This entity has been haunting and hurting people for God knows how long, and God knows how many.

Her brother is just the latest.

Maybe Skye will be the one to finally put this demon to rest.

I suppose we'll just have to wait and see.

But hey, that's just a theory!

A Game Jolt theory!

Thanks for reading ^.^

Goofy Emma sprite that's actually used in the game (I wonder if anyone can guess where and why lol)

Instead of doing what I planned to do (YET!! I'M STILL GONNA OK!!) I updated the tileset for the Studio (Ch2 location) a bit

I think the floor and wall distinction is MUCH clearer now and just feels "right", even if the old floor tiles were very pretty.

I already know too much about the DLC so don't say ANYTHING

But I thought this could make a nice wallpaper

Just got back into ER yesterday and very happy to be doing so ^.^

This is NOT a prank... Survive nights in a gas station while the Ghabbit lurks... but to make it till morning, you must beat Chunky JUMP! A new horror game releasing this year!

Silly little drawing of "Kitsune Miku"

I think that technically exists already but anyways, this is mine ^.^

#thebunnygraveyard. She looks so cute

New GameDev update video, talking Dissonant Love, and obviously GUIDANCE.

Uploading this took forever so I'm just linking the YouTube version : https://youtu.be/2Vu_bis1bxE

Took this neat screenshot in Control like a week ago and thought it'd be fun to share (I've put off sharing this for no particular reason. I think procrastination is my brand at this point lmao)

My doll of play dough of skye !

Never said how much of my face the picture would show
