On this day, two years ago, I began work on an RPG with the work-in-progress title “Pax Romana”. Originally about a mutant post-apocalyptic society, I decided that the idea was crap and scrapped it, only creating the world map. During the short life that Pax Romana had, I was getting back into YouTube Poop after a year-long hiatus. I decided to reuse the map and the post-apocalyptic idea for a YouTube Poop game, originally titled YouChew: The RPG.
I worked on and off the game for nearly one and a half years, until I finally released it on YouChew in November 2013, the largest (and only noteworthy) forum on YouTube Poop. It got some popularity, but it died down a bit. Once that happened, I discovered GameJolt through FlapBound, and decided to put the game on it. So far, the game has nearly 2,500 downloads/plays, and is currently on the front RPG page (if WIP and cancelled games are excluded from the search).
I have one thing to say: thank you! If you acquired a time machine and told younger me in 2012 that my YouTube Poop game would end up becoming surprisingly popular in the future, I wouldn’t have believed you a bit. The 1.3 update for the game is currently going along fine, and might be released within a week or two.
Oh, and I’m currently working on the plotline for The YouTube Poop World 2. It’s going to have 12 chapters/acts (plus the prologue).
