Game
TOREADOR

This is an article dedicated to detailing the effectiveness of posting game-development progress to GameJolt, and while many people might know this already, here's what I've gathered after a single week:

Consistency.

I have felt that I was more consistent in my ability to make progress, even if for a little bit. I've been only at this for a week, and I've been able to post for 6 out of those 7 days, so I'd consider myself on the right track, but let's not get too ahead of ourselves; TOREADOR isn't even close to a finished product, and so I must continue being consistent if I want to achieve my dream of having at least someone enjoy my work.

Scoping.

For the little bit of time that I've been doing this, I've been able to make my hopes a bit more realistic. I'm looking forward to next week when I eventually finish some amount of additional work. I suppose that's how it works, but you wouldn't believe the amount of times people dreamt too big or too little and crashed because of that. Here's hoping im in the zone.

Time management.

With the "requirement" of at least a little bit of progress per day, I can safely say that this has helped me manage my time a bit more. If you are struggling with time management, the way I do things is in 30-minute blocks (timer included) and take small breaks in between, with some task-switching sprinkled in, in case if I am stuck on a problem for too long. It's what I did for when the buttons wouldn't work on the prototype, so I left it and focused my energies on something I KNEW I could fix/do instead of wasting time on something I couldn't fix.

Anyways, that's my week all summed up. If you're looking for an achieveable consistency/expectations/timeframe, posting progress online is probably the best thing to do.

mfw roblox studio doesnt provide a way to cancel all tweening at once (animating properties and stopping them en masse) so *i* have to do it... just to make the jumpscare work

previewing camera views is not really supported in rblx studio so sometimes you just gotta guess where everything will be put and you get mildly amusing results like these...
