Here are my plans for this reimagining so far, I have not done anything to excecute them yet, so if something is dumb, pointless, missing, or overlooked, please tell me.
The game will start out with Tikal waking up one night, discovering Chaos, and befriending the Chao. When she returns the following morning, she overhears her father talking with his advisors about taking over the emerald shrine, and using the Chaos Emeralds and Master Emeralds for the tribe’s gain. Tikal, overwhelmed with emotions, and exhausted after not getting much sleep the night before, blows her cover, and attempts to stop her father. Pachacamac, hearing the news of the power the emeralds hold, becomes even more determined. He lies to his daughter, telling her that he will reconsider. That evening, Tikal hears the cries of the Chao, and dashes to the shrine, only to find it burning, unconscious, possibly dead Chao, littering the ground. She witnesses her father try to overtake Chaos and be killed immediately. Unsure what to do, she remembers a prophecy her grandmother taught her, and saying it out loud seals both her and Chaos in the Master Emerald.
3000 years later, we open on Knuckles guarding the Master Emerald, and the story goes from there.
Turn based combat will only be used on bosses, and will be easy so that players will be able to focus on the plot. It may not be included at all, with the only real interaction being moving around in the overworld, talking to people, and having small text decisions (Tails: “C’mon, Sonic, we gotta get busy!” Sonic: “hehe, that’s what she said” OR “you’re right my friend, so here we GO!”)
Action stages will be laid out like dungeons and mazes, Gamma’s will be timed, but a scrapped stopwatch from the beta will be included to freeze time for 5 seconds.
Emerald Ocean’s whale will be a boss
Chao gardens may appear in a very, very late update, we’re talking like two years, but the chao system is very complicated, and this project is mainly focusing on story.
The two-headed dragon boss will appear in Sky Chase 1, and after defeating it, Eggman fires his laser at you, destroying the Tornado’s wing, and the dragon boss.
Windy Valley will be laid out similarly it’s beta
Mushroom Forest, Ancient Jungle, and Painfully Hot Desert will appear as dungeons
If Gamma runs out of time in Final Egg, the music will stop, Eggman appears and says a line from the beta, “What is this!? I’m so disappointed, you useless machine! All right then, back to practice. Go on, get going!”
If dialogue or story elements get a bit dry or boring, quotes from the Game Grump’s playthrough will be thrown in to get a chuckle and keep players interested. This may or may not include a certain biological reaction that Gamma is not programmed for.
This is pretty much it for now, besides some minor plot changes in order to make sure everything makes sense.
