Teleported infront of him mid-air due to one digit offset input sending them to the WoS universe, they were sad at first for not being able to get to the ACTUAL universe they wanted to head too but afterwards decided that this Knuckles was good enough to replace it. So they offered a way out of this universe to the Rejected Timeline Universe. Knuckles first refused, saying how the master emerald was in the freedom city and there were other people to save but Jack quickly cuts his words off. Telling Knuckles that he had already failed to get to the master emerald if the other boys weren't there as he would get killed in another brutal way, making knuckles give this "exit" a shot.
