I never thought when I started making cakes that there would be anything much beyond sharing happy times with people. But there is a sad side to it, too. This cake was for a little girl turning 8, but was cancelled due to the parents splitting, loss of housing, a restraining order- a huge mess. All a few days before her birthday. I offered to make it for free, just so she could still have something special, but was turned down. I have had this happen more often than you might think- people's lives are not all happy when it seems like they should be. The lesson is to try appreciate what you have when you have it. ❤️

Icy water? My labs don't care! If it's warm enough to start melting, it's warm enough to swim!
Ta-da! My Super NES console with Zelda game. This was an oreo cookie cake, so chocolate cake w/ crushed oreos baked thru, cookies and cream filling and layers of crushed oreos between the cake layers, too! Guy loved it. I even added the power light!
First Kirby cake was from 14 years ago for a birthday (I was asked to just use icing, and my son swiped his finger down Kirby's face!). Second is a cake dummy, but I still decorated it. Just look at the difference! #FanArtFriday

I thought you all might get a kick out of this. This is the bridge i use to go from pa to nj - it is one of the last private bridges in the country. It used to be an old train bridge but got converted. Creepy to cross, even to me after all these years!
Shadow and Maria having a little stroll
