Time to leave the past behind.


Before I start this devlog, I just wanna say Happy New Years to everyone! Can't believe a whole year has already gone by, the project lives on yet again for a year. I know that there hasn't been any major progress over these last few months and over the course of the entire project's life itself, and I really am sorry about that. Motivation just makes it hard for me to get stuff done and so the project always lays dormant without any guidance and really there's nobody to blame but myself for that. I am thankful for everyone who has stuck by the project for as long as they have and I do hope to get some actual progress done sometime in the near future. As much as I do hate to admit it, the project is unfortunately dead in the water, however I will always stand by my word and I will never cancel this project. I will finish it one day, even if I have to do it all alone. But thankfully I don't have to do it alone with some of the amazing team members that are on the team so without them I honestly would be having to do this all on my own.

So that leads me to this posts major announcement. We are separating all ties with the term "Undertale AU" starting now. This project did originally start as an Undertale AU, but honestly now, I want to make it its own thing. A Touhou Fangame. Frisk will still be the main character, but we've mostly abandoned most of the things that make up a traditional Undertale AU, such as the battle system and even the very concept of roles in general. Roles just tend to get in the way of my creativity, I always have to worry about fitting characters to a rolelist just so I can include my favorite characters in the AU but without the concept of roles, I can focus more on including my favorite characters and how they tie into the plot itself rather than where I can slap them into a rolelist. Plus I've never really liked the rolelist anyway but was too afraid to change it out of fear of backlash but now that we've moved on from using roles, I can include whoever I want, as themselves. Not as a replacement to anyone. To whoever might be turned off from this project due to this change, I'm sorry. I just don't want to keep using the concept of roles any longer. It does nothing but limit my creativity and I never liked it anyway. But to those of you who will stay, thank you for choosing to follow my project and I hope one day, I can deliver a product that you can be proud to enjoy. And even to those who leave, thank you for deciding to support my project while it was still an Undertale AU. All of you. Your support is what keeps me going.

That's all I really wanted to say. I'd rather be honest with you guys about problems behind the scenes than keep you all in the dark because you guys deserve honest updates and the truth, instead of false lies that everything is going okay and that it will be out soon. I'm really sorry for the lack of content, I hope to make up for that soon. With that being said, I also want to introduce two new co-owners to the project. NoraZoma, who you may know as our character designer and Papyron95, who you may also know as our lead sprite artist. Out of all the people to co-own the project with me, there's no other people I consider more worthy of that title than them. I'll also try to keep you guys updated more frequently when I can but I'll always give you guys updates whenever there's a major update or change.
