UI Direction

Well, the past two days, I haven’t been able to spend much time on programming/adding features to the game - but been spending time thinking/pondering layout of the overall GUI. This is going to be a web game, as I want it to be easily be playable vs having to download, and will have a user interface to place towers, build things, etc.

As I am not an artist, I spent some time trying to gain some thoughts/inspiration to the overall GUI design. I found some stuff that I really like, but unfortunately, my artistic skills lack the ability to really replicate much of it… I will not copy someone’s work!!!

Anyways, this led me to revisit some asset packs from Kenney that I purchased a while back, and I found some UI elements that I feel will work well with the game. I started playing around with a few of the elements, and am really happy the direction this is heading. (Below is a sample of the tower selection interface.)

I’ve created a Trello board where I am going to track more detailed progress/goals for each sprint, for the game.

Shoobies leave a sticky trail of mucus in their wake, which can impede movement for any creature that steps in it.

We made a lot of improvements on the Freezing Plains visual. Things like pine trees, tiny bushes, some rocks, and others game props!

A house I've built a while ago. :)

It nicely separates the snowy biome from the grassy one.

It's built with painted Ebonstone.
