Undertale: No Mercy Devlog #2


Hi everyone! JTC here again (after almost a year, wow.)

Nice of all you to come back!

Welcome to the second official UTNM Devlog!

If you weren't aware, Milo has changed a lot in the last year :P

So, without further ado...

Here's the progress overview!


Progress on the UTNM Ruins Demo

Sprites: ~40%

Story: ~45%

Coding: ~5%

Engine: ~40%

Music: ~50%

Rooms: ~15%


The Specifics

Sprites

Our dev team has considerably changed around many times since the last Devlog, so instead of putting those devs here, just check the description of the game!

In terms of physical spritework, we seem to have a few things going for us... if you haven't checked stuff out recently, make sure to do that too!

I think I've posted a good amount of art recently, plus I'm still waiting at 100 followers to give you guys the new banner, so...

You guys know what to do :3


Coding/Engine

The official Undertale Chai Engine is underway! Again, thanks to the expertise of @darkboi12 , we are peaking beyond compare (progress is slow, but that's expected :P)

I can't really show anything at the moment, but check out dark's page for more content on the engine! (and other cool stuff they make too!)


Music

One thing our team has been (relatively) consistent on production is the music-making, and thanks to a very skilled musician that just joined our team recently, things seem to be looking up! (I haven't asked them for their socials yet... terrible owner smh)

But yeah we ball


Rooms

We recently revamped some of the tiles for the Ruins area, so I've had to go back and fix the rooms to update their now-more-monochrome features (thanks @tetemama_tuti !), but I'm still cooking!


Story

All I can say is that relatively halfway through the Ruins alone, the lore doc is at 54 pages...

Take that as you wish.

Anyways, the tileset has finally been (mostly) revamped for Ruins! (thanks to @tetemama_tuti !) Off to roombuilding!

Wish me luck (P.S.: Don't have the new Milo sprites yet... lol)
