Sorry about the two months of radio silence.
No, the game isn't dead. Neither is it on hiatus. We've still been working and making progress. However, the game will have to wait a little while longer since we're reworking the entire engine.
Along with a fourth (already?!?!?!?!?!?!) text engine UTT has seen.
But why? That's a good question. TML's engine has been getting increasingly harder to use, especially with the amount of story this game has - the flag system is pretty complicated and to be honest, the entire engine is growing more and more outdated. Don't get me wrong - I have nothing against TML's engine; it's still a great tool to help with Undertale fangames - but I, as the only programmer on the team at the moment, am more comfortable with working with an engine I've created myself. This also means a higher quality of the game in the end.
Not everything is built from the ground up, though, as we are using a bunch of helpful systems such as:
A saving system and smooth animation system, both made by @FutureGamer25
and included in his Gamemaker RPG Engine
Scribble and Bulb, two libraries made by Juju Adams (Bulb was already in use in the old engine for the light system)
Fast progress is being made, though, and soon the engine will be ready for UTT.
On the side of music, we do have a new Hard / Insane battle theme by @sushibite that you can go take a listen to right now!
In the case of art, I'm starting on a very much needed logo rework, but several sprites have also been made / are being made.
You can still apply at Twilight Studios Application Form if you want to join the team!
Well, that's it for this update! I know it was short for two months of nothing, but at least the game isn't dead!
Have an amazing [insert time of day]!
