Update 0.2 changelog - The Fishing Update


Hey y'all's. Been a while! Big update, but not a major one--despite the new naming convention. I will now be naming updates like game jolt lists them as (major.minor.patch). The demo will still be known as 0.[something], even if I add anything major. The new update should be playable immediately, as in right now--if you're here that early, anyways.

- Added a new Kris mode. This Kris costume is a little different to the other costumes...

- To accommodate for that, Nate's naming dialogue is now used for Kris, and Nate's naming dialogue is now different.

- Chara costume alt has been added.

- Running sprites, specifically only for the Clover alt, have been added.

- If the fishing rod is equipped when entering a battle, Frisk will now have their correct battle sprites.

- Overhauled the fishing mechanics. The fishing tutorial has been updated to reflect these changes. Instead of 1-finger mashing vs. 2-finger mashing, fish now instead have their own mashing speeds.

- 2 (technically 3) new fish have been added.

-Carp has the slowest mashing speed, Largemouth Bass being slightly harder, Salmon being difficult and Catfish being extremely challenging.

- A new item has been added--purchasable from the SCAM-BRAND vending machine--that allows you to see what fish you are reeling in before you catch it.

- Edited the fishing bar graphic to show where the red bar will need to hit for a successful catch.

- The description of fish now include their sell price.

- The dialogue trees for the oven and campfire have been overhauled. When interacting with either or, a choice dialogue will show, including each cookable fish. The amount of each fish that you currently have on you will be shown.

- The dialogue for cooking a fish for the 1st time ("It's quite scaly, and gross..." etc.) would play a 2nd time if interacting with a campfire (for the 1st time) after interacting with a stove (for the 1st time), and vise versa. It has been fixed so that the dialogue now only triggers once throughout the entire save file.

- Made the cooking sound play when cooking a fish for the 1st time. I'm only adding that because I don't want the player to think something has gone wrong, since nothing is happening...

- Some crates in Shaggy's right boot have been moved around.

- Changed the crate sprite to now be a cardboard box.

- You can now pick up the cardboard boxes and keep them as pets--i mean items. Not to entice you to steal his boxes, but Shaggy now has special dialogue depending on how many boxes you take.

- Cardboard boxes are now a new item that can be used in battles. It's most effective with Shaggy.

- Prices of Pepsi, Coca-Cola/their zero sugar variants and blunts have been adjusted--as fishing for money is incredibly easy.

- Pepsi and Coca-Cola's zero sugar variants now deal percentages instead of direct HP. Coca-Cola being 70%, Pepsi being 20%.

- Skills are now called "ACTs", and ACT has been renamed to TALK.

- Shaggy can now SPARE, however he cannot TALK as that would make the FRISK be OBSOLETE.

- Changed the dialogue for the secret froggit attack.

- The introductory cutscene for the save point no longer plays more than once.

- Edited the OK Desu Ka track slightly.

I am working on Build 22, which will make many changes to my systems. Specifically, the menu has a new look, and I'm fixing the lag issues (finally).

-New soundtrack! At the start of a game you can choose remade or VX Ace soundtrack.

-Hardcore mode overhaul!

-A LOT of overworld changes and bug fixes!
