Update 1.3.0 - March 2023 - The unexpected update

Coyote jumping!

Update 1.3.0 - March 2023

NOTE: This patch is fully compatible with version 1.2.x!

I haven't touched this game in a long time -- the code is a hot mess and I've been working full time as a software engineer for the last 5 years. However, I'm on leave from work for a bit and wanted to poke around in old projects. I took a quick look at the game this afternoon and made a couple minor changes. This is being considered an update instead of a patch because of the inclusion of coyote jumping. If I get around to it, maybe in the nearish future I will replace the font, add localization, and export for MacOS and Ubuntu, but no promises.

Thanks for playing!

Changelog:

QOL: Added coyote jumping! This briefly allows jumping even if the player falls off a ledge.

- The timing allows up to 4 frames to pass (1/15th of a second due to 60 FPS target).

- This still allows a double jump afterwards like normal.

- The game should have had this from day 0. It should make the levels easier, hopefully it doesn't break them!

QOL: Removed flashing from stars in the background since it could get annoying.

BUG: Fixed the death particles always going to the orb even if it was previously collected.

OTHER: Updated Maddy Thorson's name in the credits screen.

OTHER: Updated my name to Nate Wood in the title and credits screens.

OTHER: Minor improvements to the Gamejolt sign in screen.

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa MarĂa Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!
