Note: The real news is that from now on I am going to only use gamejolt news for real news, and release patch notes and development logs on this github page https://github.com/SeanStraus21/gnoll-raider. I also have the actual game stuff there too, if for some reason anyone is interested in that.
Gnoll Raider is updated, but unfortunately progress has been…bad. I’ve switched over to a new engine of the game maker engine which runs faster and can generate rooms without stalling the game, and provides non-worthless collision detection, but this power comes at a price. I blame this circumstance (among others) for getting half as much done in twice as much time as it normally takes me to do anything.
The only really noticeable thing about this update is that the levels are now based on templates. they are still not that great, but nothing is in this game. the important thing is that I now have a level editor (thanks to zin, by the way, who made it for me while I was busy doing midterms, trying to write physics dlls, and other doomed things) which will become increasingly complex and sophisticated as I tweak it.
So, the moral of the story is that the last four weeks were dedicated primarily to back-end stuff that nobody will notice, but was required for future progress.
Changelog:
Tweaked pop-up message system
Improved some menus in character creation(joy)
added more directions to the zombie(yeah, I know…thats what everyone wants right?)
Levels are better, I think.
Lag has been removed.
Known Bugs:
technically none.
Unknown Bugs:
Potentially limitless.
I have not been able to test it, but I am pretty sure multiplayer functionality has been obliterated.
