Hello everyone! I know it's been a while, I apologize for the silence, but a lot has been happening and it's been difficult to get back to posting. I'd like to catch you all up on what's been happening, starting with the most important thing:
MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY MO
Making video games takes a lot of time, and a lot of money. I have next to none. As much as I love to make games for the games, it's not very profitable to just make FNAF fangames forever. So that leads to the next topic:
MABEL'S HAS A RAT INFESTATION, GOTTA FUMIGATE
My next FNAF-adjacent game, Mabel's, has to go into standby for now. As much as I want to make it, it's not exactly profitable, and it's not exactly close to done either. THAT DOES NOT MEAN IT'LL NEVER COME OUT!! I still have every intention to complete it, but I need something else at the moment to help support myself. That leads to my next topic:
LOCAL CAT DOES RANDOM BULLSHIT WITH CARDS
I want to make a video game that's both something I would like to play and something that I can actually make some money off of. Therefore, I'm making a deck-building RPG about a cat helping to remove otherworldly anomalies with new cat-adjacent friends! Every battle starts you with a handful or random cards in your deck, and you have to use them strategically to handle various enemy encounters and bosses. You can use XP you earn to upgrade your cards OR yourself however you see fit (unless you don't care and want to run a minimum level challenge run or something). I hope to have it out this year, but as with everything, there are complications, such as:
OH MY GODDDD THE BUGS I AM GOING TO
Programming is hard. I thought programming a battle system would be simple considering I've DONE IT BEFORE, but somehow it keeps completely breaking every time I dare to look at it. I'm working my hardest to get everything functional, but it seems almost never-ending with how often things fall apart. That being said, it's mostly stable outside of a few smaller things, but getting to them requires the next topic:
I WOULD LIKE TO TALK TO THE TIME MANAGER PLEASE
Between college, babysitting, and other activities such as art commissions, I haven't had a lot of time to get to my game. It sucks and I wish I could spend more time on it, but certain things have to come first. This is a one-dev show at the moment. Having said that, I'm going to start spending more time on this game soon because I want it out ASAP. I'll be working to get ahead of the curve on my other responsibilities so that I can dedicate more time to getting the game working.
I think that's all the important updates I have for now. Again, apologies for not updating sooner, I've just been a bit busy with everything around me. It'll get easier for me to get back to development soon, but for now I have to focus on the other aspects of my life. Mabel's will come out when I have time for it again, and I hope the new RPG will be fun for everyone as well. Have a good day, and I'll be back before you know it!
