Update/Some Background...

Things are coming along quite nicely! :)

I’ll start with a little background on our game. Our game, hereby code-named ‘Beat Rush’, is a music & sound based shmup. The focus of this game is customization of your ship’s weaponry to make music as you kill things. Towards the end of the game, it’s going to get pretty chaotic, if you know what I mean!

Pertaining to the theme of Chaos, we decided to lean towards one of the most chaotic forms of music around today: Dubstep. Dubstep receives mixed reviews from person to person. Some people love it, while other think it’s just ‘random sounds and noises’. But it is that seemingly random assortment of crazy sounds that makes it perfect for our game, and this contest.

Every gun you come across in Beat Rush will play a different sound effect. This will give every weapon a unique appeal depending on how you want your track to sound. Try to combine different gun types to make your chaos sound best!

Further increasing the diversity will be the acquisition of different ‘Rhythms’. Rhythms are used to change how your guns fire. For example, a gun with Rhythm A might fire like this:

Boom. Boom. Boom. Boom.

However, if you were to place Rhythm B on that gun, it would fire like this:

BoBoom. Boom. Boom BoBoom. Boom.

Well, that’s all for now. I’ll be sure to post again with some more news & media on the game. Stay Tuned!

These are background sprites I've created for a game I'm working on at school ^w^ Click on the post to see how the sprites connect. You won't regret it! (personally, I think it's pretty heheh)

Drawn in Piskel using my mouse. Whaddya think?

I worked so hard to get all four of them to the end safely, but then...

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!

OK, this starts to be too tricky puzzle already :D
