Update: Version 1740


Actually wanted to submit the game for GJFest until I found out you can only submit one game. Now I’m not sure whether to submit Box Kickers X or Hexaria… Anyway, here’s a one-day work patch for you with tons of Quality of Life improvements.

  • Main Menu: game settings removed, big play banner, start game with Enter

  • Player select: Added keys needed to join/leave game, bigger boxes and a smaller blocks between joined and unjoined area of the field.

  • Level Select: New menu: Slight graphical changes. Custom: Two more level slots. [Enter] for random level. Small delay after selecting levels. Settings like time and item spawn rates can now be set from this menu.

  • Help Menu: Slightly better contrast

  • Keybinding menu: Fixed typo

  • Fullscreen is now on by default.

  • Items disabled by default. I think they’re pretty bad design left over from the original Box Kickers. You can still use them if you like, though.

  • New prompt box design.

  • Level editor: Music, SFX and fullscreen toggles

  • Backend work: Cleaning code and assets.

  • Levels: Fixed captions
