A lot of you have been asking and I've been reading comments from time to time. Asking about the current whereabouts of the game. This post will explain where this game has been past 8 months.
For those who didn't know let’s cut the nonsense. The game isn’t stuck because of how many people were on the team, and despite small efforts and some people who dipped out of the team very early. The real reason River Country stalled is poor prioritization and mismanaged focus.
First off, there was too much time was split between collaboration on other projects which had some minor effects to the games development, like for the most part my work on Curse of Six Flags. Then came the unstable development loop between FNaTI 1.0 Reboot (AKA Treasure Island 2000) and River Country. Constantly jumping between those projects killed momentum on both ends as I was trying to meet a deadline for both games. Every time progress started on one, attention shifted to another. That cycle repeated until nothing moved forward in a meaningful way.
The back-and-forth wrecked development velocity, buried consistency, and kept essential parts of the game in limbo was definitely on my part.
So what's the goal for River Country 3d?
Before I get to that point, I need to first finish my work on another Project and take progress with this project slower, and I need to get hands on more reliable developers and team members in order to just finally get this fucking game out. To explain because the game did get a massive graphical upgrade with new rooms, revised characters, and all that, the game is about 35% complete. Until then, I'll see you on the flipside after Treasure Island 2000.
Edit: Here's a little something from the game
