I have updated the demo, and posted a version anyone can now download and play.
The game now runs in the GameMaker Studio 2 engine. Porting was easy but tedious, GMS2 hated my levels at face value which caused horrible lag during play, so I had to recreate every single level.
In the end it was worth it. It's opened a window of new possibilities I couldn't manage in the previous engine. And the new color palette has given me the freedom to make some dull colors p o p.
Just want to address some issues I'm aware of:
Blood isn't smearing onto surfaces. Oh nyoo.🩸
The multitude of scripts and objects that control this behavior don't work within the new infrastructure. I'm also not responsible for writing the scripts so until I am able to find assistance with porting, it is the way it is for now.Theres also these little guys with masks that throw axes at you. SOMETIMES they'll clip through walls- only if you deliberately manipulate them into doing so. Otherwise they're happy and fine.
