FINALLY, an update worthy of people who dig the game!

I’ve added two new fairly large mechanics.
Weeing! When you wee on something, you set that spot as marked, to be remembered. The sonar ping that allows you to find your way to the scent trail is now this - you can reset it anywhere you like, at any time. When you press wee, it sets the spot to be pinged. When you press sniff, it pings that spot so you can find your way back to the trail, or wherever you set it, if you feel like exploring. It’s like a self-managed waypoint system, because the trail is invisible.
A Focus mechanic. This will encourage the player to act like a dog at all times - chase things, sniff things, wee on things, roll over on your back and rub it against the ground, run around doing zoomies that dogs do to burn off excess energy, and hopefully soon do some puppy wrestling, which will be like a 2D fighting minigame. The point of acting like a dog in any aspect will raise your focus - it will sharpen the soundscape of the game. If you ignore focus, eventually it will drop to zero. Your speed will become very sluggish and I might add in a screen blur too.
