Everything mentioned in the first devlog has been implemented.
-The doors all have opening animations when playing
-cabinets and pretty much anything that has a door on it can be opened adding more interactivity to the game
-new map (entire new level)
-new doors
-new textures
-in the new level Joe(the creepy enemy) has vastly improved AI He now wanders the building going from node to node until he sees you, when he sees you he will begin to chase you
-oh also a node system for Joe to follow
-Joe moves considerably faster now at almost double his original speed
-your movement speed has been lowered by over half for walking
-you now have limited sprint and sprinting lets you move at a little over double your walking pace (yes you now sprint as fast as you used to walk)
Wow when you’re working on the game each of these feels like so much more but this is actually a very short list…
known issues:
-the textures keep resetting to an ugly state where they’re just solid colors and I hate this
-Joe’s door breaking animation for the cafeteria doors are odd and need to be replaced
-Joe never stops knowing where you are once he’s found you (this makes the game insanely difficult)
-the cafeteria’s door’s normals are inverted(you probably won’t notice this one at first glance but regardless needs to be fixed)
-there’s a room in the top right corner of the map that is locked, that is because there is no ceiling in this room because I want to add a second floor at some point.
-the second level is just a bigger harder version of the first, every thing is the same the only difference is Joe’s new AI
Future Plans:
I’d like to fix everything mentioned above
-I have plans to furnish the office building to make it look more believable
-I’d like to have random spawn points for the items that you need to pick up to add more replay value to the game
-I’m going have Joe search not just the hallways but also the rooms at some point as well, and how in depth his search is depends on if he suspects that you’re in the room
-Having Joe search the rooms would also make it necessary to have a hiding mechanic and so this is also something I’d like to add to my game
-What ever people believe should be improved*****
-EDIT: Jesus how could I forget this one, HANDS I want to add hands to the character model because the lack there of (among many other things) looks really dumb right now.
Thanks again to all who read this!
