v0.4.1 released!

48 hours later and the Asylum Jam build is live. Yippee!

Unfortunately the game is far from finished. Hell I didn’t even get to put in any of the spooky parts. So much for a horror jam entry, huh.

Anywho.

In This Build:

  • First slice of gameplay

  • Implementation of basic mechanics such as the clock, inventory, exploring, answering phones and watching television

Known Issues:

  • Phone conversations currently do not have a “goodbye” or “hang up” feature, and instead end after you yammer enough nonsense into the reciever.

  • No error handling for sentences that use valid words but odd grammar, resulting in blank messages

  • Phone ring does not loop properly

  • Noise levels all over the place, especially with ambience

  • No actual goal, game just ends after a certain point

  • Some objects lack descriptions

If you come across any crashes or strange happenings, leave a comment and hopefully I can fix it for the post-jam version.

I have added rewards for quests so that villagers can give you something in return for your hard work helping them. 🥳

I want to know - what's your favourite quest reward?

a drawing I did because I was bored😪. But I love how it turned out.😊

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!
