Hey y'all!
My, has it already been a year since this game has been released? Time flies quickly, doesn't it? I guess to celebrate its 1-year anniversary (I know I'm a little late on that), I decided to make a big update for the game where I basically polished up some of the programming that was considered to be "primitive" back then when I was making the game.
Months after releasing the game and while working on my current project, Knight's Quest RPG, it always bothered me that the programming that I ended up doing at first seemed a little rough around the edges compared to how I do things now. Therefore, I took the time to make all of those changes. I didn't make any changes to the controls or the overall gameplay, only to things such as power-ups, boss doors as well as other objects. They will all still function as intended, but just programmed them a bit differently unlike how I did it before just to avoid any possible issues where things might not function properly. I also went ahead and made a few minor graphical changes to some objects as well as fixing bugs.
I believe the game now feels WAY more polished than before, and I always find it convenient to always come back to a previous project and work out all of the bugs as well as polishing the mess I ended up making in the past while still learning how to do things differently. This update might seem pointless to a few of you, but I always want to make sure my games are completely up-to-date and well optimized, even if it's a project I am not completely proud of because hey, maybe somebody out there liked what I've done in the past and wants to make sure they perform well enough.
Anyways, that's all for now! I'll go ahead and play through the game to check on any other left-over errors that need fixing, but you can let me know if you encounter anything at all. Be sure to follow my current game page, Knight's Quest RPG, if you haven't already, and as always, be on the lookout for anymore updates, and I'll see ya next time!
