Version 0.2.0 released!

Hey guys!

I just released an update with the following:

Fixed most of the player collision issues
Added the ability to skip dialog
Added the ability to change the volume for all the audio in the game
Added the ability to rebind controls and change the mouse sensitivity
Removed Xbox 360 controller support (for now)
Small fixes and improvements

Huge thanks to everyone that’s reported bugs, gave feedback, and played the game!

So, a few notes about this release (boring technical notes and my rambling about it :) )

The biggest change in my opinion is the removal of Xbox 360 controller support. I initially stated I planned on supporting more controllers but as I started to research into how to go about it I realized it was much more complicated than I originally thought.

I do plan on looking into various ways to support controllers in the future, but I think it’s going to be on the back burner for now as I’d rather make the game bigger and better first, then add more ways to play after that.

All of the controls are now completely customizable! I’m sure there will be issues with this system, so please let me know if you find anything in the comments, or on the game page. Right now the controls have to be set every time you launch the game, but in a future update it will be saved to a config file.

The new input system isn’t perfect and I’d like to expand it to allow for controller support, but I think it’s a big leg up over the customizable controls in the game before.

Another part of the game that’s changed is the collision controller for the player. Now most of the problems with sticking to objects should be fixed, though annoyingly there is still a few cases where it occurs. Now the biggest problem is that the player can stick to walls if you move against them. The collision controller still needs some more fixes and I’m sure it is going to continue to improve as time goes on.

Finally, I wanted to note that the dialog is still completely the same. I plan on redoing most of the dialog and recording new audio in a future update, along with adding animations for a more lifelike feel.

I also want to expand the game to include more dimensions with new and interesting characters to meet, and more puzzles to solve. I’m not sure on when the next update will come out or what is going to be in it, but I’m positive it’s going to be awesome. I’m thinking of maybe adding some elements from another one of my games, DemoDemo, as an additional dimension(s).

If you have any suggestions on what to add/change/remove, please let me know in the comments below!

Thanks for your support, and happy new year!
