Gnome More War BETA v0.3.0
New Map Selection Screen
I enhanced the presentation to make it look and feel more like you're in a fantasy world. Select the locations presented as map pins and choose which map you wish to do battle on.
Map Overhaul
The three (3) maps from the Alpha build were redesigned. Every 5 waves there is a change of scenery or map variants, to keep the gameplay always interesting. Objects called map blockers have been added to bump up the challenge.
New Maps
New maps have been added. These are Irolan Village, So'leil Fishing Village, and Eggo City. Each one presents a different challenge to the player.
Boss Fights
On the fifth wave a boss will appear. Some examples of these bosses are the Waspis Queen and the Sky Pirate gnome. Each boss has their own set of abilities and attack pattern.
War Room
You get a War Room screen, where you have access to all sorts of stuff like upgrades, power-ups, and healing.
Power-up Loadout
In the alpha, you get a fixed set of power-ups that you need to collect and use. In this new build, I have expanded the number of power-ups. You will need to unlock these and add them to your load-out so that they will appear during battle.
Abilities
Inspired by some roguelikes such as Vampire Survivor, after gaining certain points from popping balloons and shooting down enemies, you get to pick from a range of abilities that will increase your chance of survival. These abilities go up to level 10. Pick and match as you please, or just get the coins while waiting for your desired ability to show up.
Upgrade Deck
The concept here is that you are enlisting the help of your goblin friends. Build your upgrades deck using cards with their faces on it. You can only equip cards with unique faces. Each goblin has their own specialty, like one that is focused on Barn resources, while the other is focused on armor, and so on.
Cart Skins
You can now unlock new cart skins instead of getting stuck with the default Basket cart.
I have put a tremendous amount of time and effort on this, spanning across 5 years! It was a wonderful journey, and it's far from over. I'd be very happy if you could join me on this one and give feedback as much as possible. Thanks!
