It’s finally here!
And boy did it take me long…
I have obviously slacked a little, and then I started working and time became a very valuable resource. But now it is here and I hope it was worth the wait for you all. By now C0D3 has reached almost 1000 views and over 200 plays.
But enough blabbering, what has changed.
Decryption and stuff
During the last six months I have been to munich and I visited the Deutsches Museum. And while being there I somehow ended up in the section for decryption and encryption. Luckily I had a pen and my notebook at hand and took some notes. I found a few really interesting methods of encryption and built a few puzzles around them. But I obviously kept a few puzzles back for later versions. In general, there are:
5 new general Puzzles
3 new visual Puzzles
An actual “story”
Twitch Integration
A good few other changes
General Puzzles
3 of the new puzzles have to do with maths again, but at least one of them with a nice twist. The other two puzzles are a bit more creative I hope. I am always trying to come up with new ideas, which in my opinion is harder than actually solving a puzzle. But I would also like you as the player to maybe learn something new. And having you look up ways to solve certain math puzzles is something I am very happy about. So I hope you enjoy learning something new, or refreshing your memory on something you
learned a while back.
Visual Puzzles
One of the new visual puzzles focuses on a visual form of encryption, that I did not know about before visiting the museum. Making this puzzle was a lot of fun. The second puzzle is also linked to encryption and might require you to get a bit crafty if you need visual aid for it. The thrid puzzle should be very familiar to a lot of people. But you will see once you get there.
There is a story?
Yes there is, because no game is complete without at least some kind of backstory. I think the way I am telling it is rather unconventional, even though it probably has been done before. If you don’t care about the story you probably won’t encounter it for now, but if you like to dig deep and look for clues, I am sure you can find what I have hidden.
Note: The conclusion to the plot has not been added in yet, but I think I have spread enough breadcrumbs to give you a good idea of where I am going.
Twitch Integration
Yeah, it’s a thing! If you want to know more, have a look here!
What other changes?
Well if you followed the DevLog over the last 2 months you will have read about the major code changes I made. These are not changes you as a player will notice, but they make content creation a lot easier for me. This means, that a lot of the work that went into this version of the game is not visible to you, but in return it means, that the next version will come with a lot more content. I have also made some changes to the sound in the game, since it was not properly balanced. Some sounds would be super loud, while others were barely noticeable. So that has changed now.
And that’s it
This is version 0.6. I hope you will enjoy playing it as much as you enjoyed the game so far. I promise to not take as long for the next update. I am planning on releasing the final version, content wise, before the end of this year. But please keep in mind, that this is merely a hobby to me for now and life might get in the way.
Anyways, thanks for reading and I hope you have a great time playing!
