Version 0.8.1 out now!


Leftory Custom Night Version 0.8.1 is out now, with minor bug fixes, features and easter eggs, as well as a new mechanic meant to balance the game with certain characters!

Also, it's my #spawnday today! I joined Game Jolt 8 years ago today, pretty sure I made this account to download POPGOES 2016 or something.

Anyway, onto the update!

FULL CHANGELOG

New Features

  • Added new "Screen Time" mechanic:

    • For certain characters who rely on the player flipping the monitor to spawn, like SuperS0ul and Barney Stinson, how much time you spent on the monitor will now actually affect their aggression. So for example, if you actually used the cameras for a good while before turning the monitor off, the characters won't advance as much as if you just instantly turned the monitor on and off. So you're punished for using the monitor like in UCN!

      • This new mechanic was made to counter the main strategy for a certain group of characters, which required you to check the cameras but could be avoided by just barely using the monitor every 30 seconds or so. Now you can still do this, you'll just be punished a bit more, which I really like.

        • Also, since the player is required to instantly close the monitor when Spamton appears (there are some alternatives, but closing the monitor is how you usually get rid of him), doing this won't make the characters advance as much as if you instantly closed the monitor when Spamton isn't there!

  • Added "First-Time Normality" mechanic:

    • The first time you go through certain parts of the game like the Main Menu or the night, certain distracting easter eggs will be disabled to not confuse the player on the off-chance that they are triggered. For example, the first time you play a night, the easter egg characters that sometimes appear when you turn around or use the monitor will be disabled, because some new players were confused when they got them and thought they were another enemy they had to take care of. Hopefully this makes it clearer that they're not part of the regular gameplay.

  • Added keybind to disable Menu Leftory Vine Boom...

    • It had to be done... Sorry...

Balance (or just very significant) Changes

  • Reworked Barney Stinson's spawn timer:

    • Previously, Barney spawned every 2 cam flips (and there was a bug that made it so the counter didn't reset when you started a new night, so if you flipped once, went back to the menu, started a new night and flipped one more time, he would show up). Now it's a lot more complex than that, as it's also paired with the new Screen Time feature. Let's just say, heh... there's some decimals involved...

Misc. Features, Changes and Bug Fixes

  • Secret Characters spawn in the max mode now... bruh...

  • Holding SPACE now causes Toggle Everyone to stay lit

  • Nightmarty is now properly called "Mault" in Game Over

  • Fatal Fifteen trophy flavor text now has an exclamation mark :]

  • Fredbear Plushie's blinking is now rarer

  • You can no longer use the ITEM and REPLAY TUTORIAL buttons while erasing your stats

  • You can no longer use Toggle Everyone while quitting

Easter Eggs ;)

  • Added "Titus Andromedon" easter egg

  • That's... it? Only one easter egg, damn.
