Version 1.1.0 released

After a month and a half since the very first release, Ball Booster’s game page has gained 236 views. Ball Booster itself has gotten 18 plays. I went ahead and read reviews that a few kind people left giving recommendations and suggestions, so I took their suggestions and put them into the new 1.1.0 build of Ball Booster.

Changes:
• Slightly improved the graphics by changing the cloud shape (went from a rectangle to several circles/ovals piled on top of each other) and the bullet shape (went from a rectangle to a cone)
• Added an instant respawn feature. How it works: The feature cannot be found in the settings. The player must press ‘i’ on their keyboard while on the title screen, in a game, or on the game over screen. When the player dies while instant respawn is activated, they will instantly respawn to the center of the screen.
• Along with instant respawn, a total coin count has replaced the coin count. This means that while instant respawn is activated, coins will not be counted and added to the player’s coin count until they turn off instant respawn. For example, if the player collects one coin, dies, collects two coins, and turns off instant respawn, the game over screen will read, “You have earned 3 total coins!”
• Decreased the speed of the bullets and slightly increased the wait for bullets to spawn (this is meant to make the game easier)
• Decreased the size (mass) of the ball for better upward movement (this is also meant to make the game easier)
• Added a new track into the game (Game Theme #6; has a 1/6th chance of playing while in a game)

Internal changes (doesn’t really matter to normal players but I might as well list them):
• As some of you know, this game was made with LÖVE2D. LÖVE 11.0 was recently released, so I made Ball Booster compatible with it.
• I went ahead and cleaned up the source code some. It may still look messy, but it’s better than before.

Known bugs since this build was released:
• For some reason, LÖVE 11.0 created a strange lag bug if the player’s screen resolution is too high. I will work on fixing this, but I cannot find a way to fix it at the moment.

Anyway, that’s the whole update. I appreciate everyone who played this game, left a review (all reviews I read are on either the LÖVE2D reddit or the LÖVE2D forums), or even simply viewed the game page. I will work on making more improvements (especially fixing that annoying lag bug), so please be on the lookout for those! If you shared this game with your friends and family, I would really appreciate it!

Updated the chest in the maze, adding sound, particles and better animation. But what's in the chest?

Heya! I wanted to show some gameplay progress i made so far. I hope you like it ^^

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)

Horror WIP A track that will be featured in a future horror game soundtrack! Stay tuned!

These are background sprites I've created for a game I'm working on at school ^w^ Click on the post to see how the sprites connect. You won't regret it! (personally, I think it's pretty heheh)

Let me introduce you to the new Mech line: Gendai Spec. Those are Mech that specializes in surprise attacks, covered operations, and stealth. They are equipped with melee weapons but one of Gendai's frames supports sniper rifles.
