Hello you wonderful people!
I wanted to take some time to tell you a bit about my visit to Paladin Game Studios yesterday. It was organised by Adriaan ( http://adriaandejongh.nl/ ), hosted by Paladin ( http://www.paladinstudios.com/ ) and attended by some really talented local devs!
The main purpose was to bring a prototype of your game and playtest it with other developers, thus I went to show blameless! Adriaan also showed his new game, another unique mobile social experience! I’m sure info on it will be published quite soon!
The feedback I received was overwhelming and mostly positive! It was the skeptical feedback that added most worth to my experience tho! The main concern with the game at the moment is people get lost, it’s not always clear how to progress in the game and if input is being registered. So I’ve got some work to do!
For now I will focus on expanding the feedback the player receives to improve on the playability for new users. I will use some proven techniques for this and will experiment with some idea’s that popped up of giving proper feedback to the user.
Furthermore I found there’s still a lot I have to learn about proper game design practices and playability. I believe the prototype has been well received and I have an obligation to finish Blameless to a certain stable state. Much of the plans concerning Blameless have been rewritten since I started creating it and I believe it’s never too late to make some major changes!
Please feel free to ask/add anything you want in the comments below, I’m curious about what you think about the game and more specifically what you believe is wrong with it in the current state!
Onto the big feedback update!
P.S. Here is a non-related animated campfire made by Gomp to soothe the mind.
