I’m letting you all choose the focus of Class Trials! Either gameplay, or visuals. http://www.strawpoll.me/15075917
Now, for some info on these choices.
Visual-based:
Visual-based Class Trials will focus on being exciting for the eyes (obviously). Visual trials will show themselves off more in minigames, for dialogue will always involve movement. In minigames like Nonstop Debates, interesting and engaging movement will become the focus. The camera will follow the mood of text, going from calm to enthused from one character to the other. However, there is a disadvantage to making these trials visual-based. It will take longer to develop the game, taking time to event each part of the trial. The first Nonstop Debate took about a month to completely develop alone, and so has the dialogue leading up to it.
Gameplay-based:
Gameplay-based Class Trials will focus on being engaging and fun, adding in more parts to the minigames, and maybe even allowing more visuals. While this does sound good, it will limit the visuals in minigames like the Nonstop Debate or Rebuttal Showdown. For example, Nonstop Debates will have one set scale, and will only move back and forth between characters. Camera will not follow the moods of each bit of text. Also, in Rebuttal Showdowns, backgrounds will be static and not split, both characters sharing one background. However, despite all of these things taken out of the planned game, the game will be developed a lot faster than it is now.
Please answer honestly. Your answer could end up changing the way the game functions entirely.
Thank you.
