Vortex Early Vers. Demo 2 Update Changes (Comparing from the current Demo 1 download on the page)

Note - Demo 1 save files will be converted to a Demo 2 save file when the user loads in that file in the main menu. Files with versions older than 0.1.15 will still have the tiles cleared, like it did for versions 0.1.15 and higher*.

*For reference, save versions made in 0.1.15, 0.1.16, 0.1.17, and 0.1.18 will not have their tiles erased.

General Bug Fixes:

- SETTINGS BUG: Fixed Window Sizes not working as intended for laptops that have smaller screen sizes than 1920x1080 [TLDR: It would not change the size of the window to said size (ex: if you had a 1500p display and changed your window size, it wouldn't be able to change due to the value thinking it's selecting a higher resolution when the user selected 1280x720 or a smaller window size)]

- TYCOON BUG: Fixed a bug where tabbing in and out after making a square makes a new square [This was due to code that still tracked the square made previously and used it outside of the intended tile bounds]

- SHOP BUG: The message for when you have new items in the store is changed due to a bug people experienced where they couldn't click any buttons with the new items alert, changed to now having an "Okay, Thanks" button (Godot Animation Error)

- SHOP BUG: The animatronics store had an issue where the new (or star) icon was still visible even after the player has looked at all the animatronics. The whole shop and item categorization was changed to match a variable in the save file correctly.

- NIGHTSHIFT BUG: Fixed a crashing issue on if the player right-clicks out of the tile bounds.

General Additions/QoL Improvements:

- Save files have been changed completely. Items now can be stored as maximum/minimum values and the tycoon tiles have been more optimized in the save file.

- Tycoon Central and Night Terrors have been remastered

- Optimized All Demo 1 Sprite Animations for Demo 2 [All those sprites are about half or 1/3 of the VRAM memory Demo 1 was initially].

- GREATLY changed the Day Summary equations so that players aren't abusing the Atmosphere stats.

- General Visual Polish:

- Almost all of the UI is completely redone for user-friendliness [Does not include Pause/Settings menu | will go in depth in the individual changes]

- The Main menu and new tower/credits scenes have been altered to give more character and charm.

- Particle effects have been added to give additional flare to objects in the tycoon and towers/animatronics in the tower defense.

- Foggy colored background has been added to the nights and game over screen.

- Added a Borderless Fullscreen option [This is NOT recommended for streamers or content creators to use. For OBS users, it is recommended to make the game Fullscreen and record/stream the game through the Game Capture Source so that the game can be captured.]

- Control Settings were added [This was added as users would have problems not being able to control the game. Possible reasons could be because the controls being unicode* buttons as default instead of physical (*Unicode allows different keyboards from around the world to control the game)]

- The Day Summary now tweens the amount of people/revenue to the maximum in 3 seconds (if the number is lower than 50, the maximum will be 1.5 seconds)

Tycoon Changes:

- Only consists of three different modes: Tile Mode, Object Mode (which combines Placement, Decor, and Animatronic modes into one mode), and View Mode (which allows you to disable the UI to take your own screenshots OR allows you to take in-game screenshots through the game itself, plus playtest some items in the tycoon). Including separate sections you can find all the items in.

- You can now Undo/Redo certain actions you've made in the Tile Mode and Object Mode. Each mode has their own individual Undo/Redo options (Tiles have their own Undo/Redo actions, same for the Objects)

- Your pizzeria can now be named whatever and will show up as the title of the save file you've chosen (plus as a sign in the outdoors).

- Fixed layering issue for all the banners (Birthday Banner, Celebrate Banner, Flag Banner)

- Playtesting has been added to existing and new items in the game:

- Candy Cadet

- Ball Box

- Ball Pit

- Pick-a-Duck

- Pick-a-Balloon

- Faz-Ratings are now in the game! They add points on items you've placed in your pizzeria the first time OR playtesting the games from those listed. Every 100 points gives you $50

Shop Changes:

- UI was remade because of how tedious it was to continually press the left and right buttons of the shop. All objects are organized similarly to the Tycoon and can search for items more efficiently

- The shop now offers maximum limit upgrades for a little less than the object’s price. This is due to everyone wanting to buy more stage for the animatronics, or just make really goofy pizzerias without resorting to the endless mode for it (Due to this addition, the Sanitation Station and Medical Stations maximums were reduced to 5 as it was a band-aid fix for Demo 1).

- Because it's easier to collect money, the maximum values to unlock packs from Demo 1 have increased and the prices/pizzeria stats of objects have either increased of decreased.

Tower Defense Changes:

- UI was remade to have new icons for the towers for easier readability, the battery power can change the color of the percentage and show the amount of power you're earning with the generators (many players had a hard time figuring this out), and there's now an objective marker for the nights (which will be developed more later on).

- Animatronics are smarter (will attack objects in front of them when the player places another object in the same direction [ONLY IF THE ADDED OBJECT IS CLOSER TO THEM])

- Animatronic Spawns and Office doors have tiles that you cannot place objects onto. [Whether it was obstructed from view or could be easily exploited]

- Nights 1-6 are significantly shorter, but is also based on how many animatronics you've destroyed to shorten the time for the hours. (each night has set minimums on how much the timer can decrease)

- Night 2-6 are nerfed to have less animatronics.

- Nights 1 now have a little more spawning animatronics.

- If there is more than one pathway, Animatronics can start on either one randomly as opposed to the scripted first path.

- Animatronics can randomly spawn in groups when the hour changes.

- Animatronics can spawn more based on high risk or low reputation.

- Animatronics can randomly drop salvage that can give you more money (added onto the Day Summary).

- A phone has been added for people that wanted to make calls to find easter eggs or to deal with Ralpho [in the next section].

- NEW ENEMIES:

- The Puppet: Will be included if you have a high enough risk/low reputation OR have placed The Music Box in your pizzeria. You must keep the music box wound up or else the Puppet will head straight to your office to kill you.

- Ralpho: Will be included if you have a high enough risk/low reputation. He will give you an alert at a random hour with a limited time to call the number to cancel the Bunny Call. Failure to do so results in a game over.

- Bonnie: When 1/3 of his health is gone, he will do Bash Jam, which heads into all 4 directions and will damage objects.

- Toy Chica: When about 1/2 of her health is gone, her beak will fall off, making her faster, more aggressive, and only focus on objects in the walkable tiles.

- Foxy: Weakest of the animatronics, but will run/destroy over any obstacles in the walkable areas to reach your office [Damages your office door by about 1/3 and dies].

System Requirements for this version of Demo 2:

Required Storage - 330 MB (0.1.18 is 660 MB)

Required RAM - ~500 MB (0.1.18 required ~1-2 GB)

Recommended RAM - ~1-2 GB (depending on the projectiles, particle effects, etc.)

Family band complete!

Back in my art school days I used to ride the 710 COPSA line from Parque Del Plata to Montevideo almost everyday. This is the Marcopolo Viaggio G4 Mercedes Benz model from the late 80s, one of the older bus models that was running on the line.

Horror WIP A track that will be featured in a future horror game soundtrack! Stay tuned!
