This year marked the 5th birthday of The Very Organized Thief, and it’s been a long journey. One filled with many ups and downs, but somehow always leading us back here.
It has also been the year where we made a number of changes and nailed down several major parts that have sped up development. You can find out a bit more about that on our website.
Last week we asked if anyone had any questions, and we (surprisingly!) got a few responses.
Here the questions, along with answers.
Wait, this is alive? -Bmovo
Yes. It may have gone underground, but it’s definitely alive. LoL
Will the game have updates? -Septy-Chan, kelog21
Yes. We’re working on a WebGL version (“Classic”) to update the browser version to be modern and supported in browsers again.
Will there be any major updates to the game? -SeekayCodee
The “Classic” version we’re currently working on is going to be a major update. We’re rebuilding it from the ground up and is likely to have new features just because of all the new code, but it’ll look and feel the same as the original “Prototype” with slightly more polish.
Is the update going to have new features/things for the house? -gamergaii
The “new” version has several new levels still in development. As for the “Classic”, we also have a few ideas in the works but it’ll depend on how the rebuild goes. You’ll have to wait and see.
Will we make new celebration versions of the house? -GameLucius
For the “Classic” version, we’ll be putting as much of the original “Prototype” in as we can so you can expect to see all the old celebration events, but not new ones.
For the “new” version, we are planning on adding them.
Any news on the Steam version that you were working on a while ago? -KingOfMiners
The “new” Steam version is still in pre-production and has been re-worked a number of times (I believe we’re up to the 7th major iteration). It’s taken a long time to fully realize what makes TVOThief good from a design standpoint, but I think once we’re done with it, everyone should be happy with what will come out.
How’ve ya been? -Sir Dude
We’ve been good. A lot has happened and a lot didn’t happen, but in all, we’ve been good. We hope things have been good for you too Sir Dude.
Thanks to everyone who left us questions. If you have any more questions, by all means, put them in the comments below, we’d be happy to answer them.
We hope you’re looking forward to some of the new things we’ve talked about. We’re working on it as much as we can and there will be more on it soon!
