We plan to add a fire station to the game! But that doesn't mean it's time to relax: you would also have to monitor the fire risk indicators for every building.

The buildings in which the settlers work would start to require payment at some point. After that the tax collectors will collect gold from residential buildings and deliver it to the buildings that require payment in order for them to keep working.
