Hey, it’s me, MHT. I have a lot of news concerning content for the Demolitale games, and I have an unfortunate announcement to make concerning programming.
First, I’ll start with the bad news. Demolitale Brown Director Purrsum is super busy with doing his own things and life as a whole, so we got a new programmer on board. You might know him as Chris Zflenki. Anyway, he’s on vacation now, and won’t be able to work either. Even though this sounds terrible, this does give us more time to prepare assets for programming, and even think up new features to add in. Alongside this, when both get back one day, we’ll have double the programming power!
On the bright side, recently, the majority of the team (including myself) have gotten absolutely hooked on the Nintendo title known as Earthbound, and the rest of the Mother series. You’ll notice little easter eggs and story references to Earthbound, seeing as Undertale™ clearly tries its best to fit inside the Mother/Earthbound universe, even going to the extent of setting a bit of its True Pacifist ending cutscene in Summers, a location in Earthbound. Alongside this, Demolitale may be adopting some gameplay mechanics similar to Earthbound, such as how WillPower (WP) works now, being more similar to PP; and 8-directional (diagonal) movement sprites.

Before you ask, however, we will NOT canonize the “Sans is Ness” theory in this universe, even if we do go for a more Earthbound-ish universe. Whether he is or not is only known by Toby Fox and perhaps his team, and even so, it’s more than likely that Sans is indeed not Ness.
Lastly, since I like to slip in at least a little bit of content in every devlog, have another sneak peek into the Hub World we’re planning to use so all three games can be accessed with ease, and so they all receive the same spotlight.

It’s still not 100% complete. I still need to add more to the tables with the hairbrush and slingshot on them, as they’re rather barren. Alongside this, we are making more progress and coming up with new ideas just about every day, and I believe we’re on our way to creating one of the best tributes to not only Undertale™, but also the series that started it: Mother/Earthbound.
Thank you all for following the development of the Demolitale series. We really couldn’t have made the progress we have without your support. Ciao!
