Hey everyone! I wanted to share what exactly this is and use some examples from the beta of my first level. Marble Mania is a new game I am creating that is heavily physics-based. You get to roll, jump and manage momentum to collect 5 objects in each level.
A big part of the game will be managing momentum. If you don't break then it takes a very long time for your marble to slow down. You can see the effects of momentum in this GIF:
As you can see, I have to use the momentum of going downhill to cross the gaps and I have to break at the end to stop the momentum.
Along with these wide open rolling challenges there are also more condensed platforming challenges, as can be seen here:
There's a lot more to the first level, but I don't want to spoil too much, haha.
Future Plans
So I expect to release this game before June, hopefully a bit sooner. I work on it consistently every weekday, but progress is a bit slow. I hope to share the progress here on GameJolt hopefully every other week.
Obviously, everything shown can change in the final game, especially the graphics haha. I've always been more of a programmer than an artist. This is going to be the most polished game I've made so far, so thanks to those of you who have shown interest, hopefully I can get this thing released before long.
