Hey all! I am having one of those late-night writing sessions again, and I decided to write about what exactly is going to happen with the version of Gooter that will be playable on the internet starting somewhere in the summer.
I originally planned for the web version to be the same as the downloadable version all the way through. However, I have come to the realization it might not be possible due to lag and frame drops. I think that the plan for right now is for Gooter HTML5 to be some kind of a demo version. That means that the web version and the downloadable version may be different versions and that the web version may not even be the full game.
The full downloadable version might become paid, probably around one to three dollars, but will have more content such as a complete story mode, probably some kind of Encore Mode, multiplayer mini-games, official mod support (maybe), “episodes” with different playable characters and gameplay styles, unlockable costumes, the ability to save your progress, and maybe a few more things.
The version of Gooter that’s playable on the web will be known as just “Gooter” for now because the web and downloadable versions will be the same. When the full version of Gooter releases, it will be known as “Gooter Lite” or something like that.
Regardless, the web version is still planned to debut with the upcoming 0.15.0 update, which is planned be formally unveiled in June around E3 time. I hope you guys are excited!
