What's the plan?

No updates this time, instead I am going to to over what my remaining plans are for this game and what the next update will entail! (Spoilers it’s a major one) It would be ideal to get this all done by the end of the month but being more realistic I should be wrapping up development of this game in about 3 months or so.
With that out of the way what does the next update entail anyway?

  • Redesigning major areas of the game:

So if you’ve played this game up to the fourth chapter you’ll have noticed that the chapter itself is kinda… bland. Its a big area with a switch to activate the boss, some plot involving Springtraps past happens and then off to the finale.
This was more due to me setting up a deadline to get the initial game out by, and I’ve always deeply regretted having it cut off like that. The first chapter also needs a bit of a face lift, as well as the super secret chapter.

As such I am going to redesign major portions both the first, fourth chapters as well as the secret chapter. I already have the first dungeon redone and I’m in the process of setting up the new and improved fourth dungeon, not to mention the secret chapter but shhhhh.

  • VA work:

The VA work is coming along nicely. Keep in mind it’s still a pain in the ass to get done and it will end up inflating the file size. I am around 60% done with the VA work so hopefully it will be at around 75% when the next update drops.
However as previously stated the file size is going to increase with each coming update, so expect the file size to only get bigger from here on out.

  • Bug Fixes:

Many bugs have been squashed, more continue to be squashed and many will be squashed in the future. Send me any bug reports you find, no matter how small they might seem.

  • Anything else:

Balance tweaking is up there on my list of priorities I really want to make sure that this game is the perfect amount of hard, not making every boss a bullet sponge but also making sure it wont be a backup bash spam fest either. In a perfect world the player would have many different ways of approaching the same boss as well as having each boss feel new and unique. This is not a perfect world however so I will try my best to get it to as close to that goal as possible.
However for you few sadists out there the next update will contain a harder new game+ mode!

This post came more out of a desire to keep communicating with the people that are actually following the development of this game.

So from the bottom of my heart, to those few that have stuck it out with this game for this long…

THANK YOU FOR CONTINUING TO SUPPORT THIS GAME!!!

We are under attack!

Been working lately on lots of 'behind-the-scenes' boring stuff that no one really cares about, so here’s a guy playing the sax for some reason.

In the quest for accessibility, I'm adding Resurrection Shrines for players on the 'novice' end of the platforming spectrum.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)

If you’ve played the Vault demo and enjoyed it, please consider ‘liking’ the game page here on Gamejolt and/or leave a comment!

Also please consider tossing Vault on your Wishlist, I really appreciate your support!
