I decided to change direction due to multiple factors, such as;
Difficulty taking the project and my own skill level into account. Wanting to make a big hit as my first game and wanting to leave an impression.
Having a lot of trouble writing music, and doing art for the game. I'm a beginner song writer and have no idea what I'm doing. So anytime I try and make a track, I end up scrapping it because it sounds repetitive.
Writing the story as a whole, due to wanting the project to also have a narritive asides: "haha, bunny go gurgle burble"
Along side other things that just didnt sit right with me about the project. Overchurned's original plot was never sitting right with me and went through multiple drafts before the entire idea of the RPG Maker game was scrapped entirely.
I am a new indie dev, and I know that I shouldnt be pushing myself to make something like "Changed" or "Undertale", and im aware if i keep this mindset, i will be less, and less eager to work on projects... just to come up with another idea for a game, just for the process to repeat itself over & over again.
Some of the Changes being made is;
The setting & plot. It no longer takes place inside a school/college. Shattered takes place in the year 2027, our new protaginst "Mason" awakens in a world unknown, yet familar to him. I am going to work on the entire story first before I begin any progress on art/music/etc.
It is no longer a game, rather a Visual Novel (VN).
The subject matter is also much... much darker.. A warning is on the game page should you want to know.
But thats about it, the game went through changes and im going about it differently this time... the link to the games page is: https://speedysnackfa.itch.io/shattered
(i am still using assets from this page, so ignore them for now.)
