Zombit V0.2

I’ve spent some extra time this week implementing the final few features. Most importantly: health/ammo systems and different weapon configurations. We’ve got a new menu screen that’s still in the works, a new logo, some music, and I threw in a machine gun for good measure.

The next step is to flesh out the game mechanics, add some varying enemies, and then start building the game world and story.

Play it here: http://gamejolt.com/games/arcade/attack-of-the-zombits/19534/

Changelog:

  • Add: You can now die. Try not to. Health bar is in top left.

  • Add: You also run out of bullets, expect to do this a lot. Ammo management is going to be key.

  • Add: Machine gun weapon, because I want you to waste your ammo(it has a much higer fire rate than the pistol).

  • Add: A new intro/menu screen - currently just plays a little WIP cutscene and lacks any real substence, but meh.

  • Add: Information bubbles, similar to character talk bubbles but bigger and more annoying.

  • Change: Completely rebuilt animation code to allow for adding of new weapons. Less hard coding, more fun. Yay.

  • Change: Pixel rounding has been turned off, resulting in much smoother gameplay performance. This makes the elevator and walking less jittery.

  • Bug fix: I finally fixed the mobile controls to work like the desktop version(again).

Been working lately on lots of 'behind-the-scenes' boring stuff that no one really cares about, so here’s a guy playing the sax for some reason.

Updated the chest in the maze, adding sound, particles and better animation. But what's in the chest?

What you all think

A house I've built a while ago. :)

It nicely separates the snowy biome from the grassy one.

It's built with painted Ebonstone.

If you have more of an acquired taste, the restaurants in Niravasi have you covered! Maybe skip the salad bar, though.

Out of boredom and curiosity, I coded Sailor Jupiter's Argentine Backbreaker.

The Authority decided to investigate the Basement and leads to recovering classified documents Fun fact: The building has 928 doors and not 1000 doors. #horror
